Community of Practice

An intensive 3-day institute for faculty working to implement AB 705

Application Deadline: April 13, 2018

AB 705 requires that we maximize a student’s chances of completing transfer-level courses in English and math in one year (3 years for students in credit ESL) by increasing placement directly into transfer-level courses and offering corequisite models at the transfer level.

This institute is designed to help your college get ready for the Fall 2019 deadline for full implementation, including:

  •  The latest research about the changes required by AB 705
  •  Support from faculty from colleges that have already implemented the changes required by AB 705
  •  Nuts and bolts information about corequisite remediation
  •  Hands-on sample classroom activities to support students while broadening access to the transfer level
  •  Time for faculty to work together on action plans
