Transforming Remedial Education to Improve Post-Secondary Attainment

CAP Director Katie Hern was one of four panelists to speak at this Washington DC event, co-sponsored by the American Youth Policy Forum and Complete College America.

The forum stressed that in order to increase college completion, current placement practices and multi-level remedial course sequences need to be fundamentally redesigned. Attended by approximately 100 people from education-oriented agencies, legislative offices, and research and policy groups, the event also featured Complete College America President Stan Jones, Provost of Austin Peay State University Tristan Denley, and Education Commission of the States Vice President Matt Gianneschi.

A video of the event is available on the American Youth Policy Forum website, along with post-forum interviews with the panelists.
