Four Key Letters
Four key letters have been submitted in support of AB1705, the followup legislation to 2017’s transformative AB705 (Irwin).
- The first letter is from student groups and organizations committed to civil rights and student success.
- The second was signed by over 90 community college faculty, administrators, staff, and researchers.
- The third is from the state Chancellor’s office.
- The fourth was signed by 60 members of key faculty unions who do not agree with the anti-AB1705 stance taken by our union leadership in FACCC and CFT.
AB1705 addresses the uneven, racially inequitable implementation of AB705 by clarifying expectations for colleges on issues that have been undermining student completion and driving racial inequity.
